Fascinating Facts about Karen
- I'm an Aries.
- I grew up in Pocatello, Idaho. As a direct result,
I went to college in Massachusetts, about as far away from Idaho as I could get. I majored in math
at Mount Holyoke College, one of the Seven Sisters, and probably
the best thing that ever happened to me.
- I currently live in Silicon Valley, but plan to move to Los Angeles and become a television producer.
- I have a black belt in aikido. You can see a picture from my black belt test here.
My teacher is Wada-sensei, who has been teaching at Aikido of San Jose
for over twenty years. It's a lot like learning about the Force from Yoda.
- As I am allergic to cats, dogs, and other fur-bearing animals, I now have a pet turtle, whom I named
G'Kwan after a character on Babylon 5. The pet store that
sold me G'Kwan claimed that he'd been born and raised in captivity, but I'm not sure that he was.
For one thing, the only vegetable he'll eat is tomatoes (though sometimes I can trick him with red peppers),
and every now and again he'll eat crickets or mealworms, but that's all. What turtles lack in intelligence,
they make up for in stubbornness. I also have a female turtle, Dymphna, named for the patron saint of mental
illness. She's much friendlier than G'Kwan, but, alas, has picked up his habit of eating only tomatoes.

- I used to have a pet horse, Max, whom I shared with a friend of mine.
(I owned the front half.) Max is a quarterhorse, and is in his early twenties. He is incredibly well-trained
(better than I am), and is very gentle.
- I have a new baby brother, Benjamin Puntawee Williams, born April 23, 2003. You can
