BARBARIAN GUILD GUIDE
MAULEM SCORESBY

II. Finding and joining the Barbarian Guild.

To get started in the Barbarian Guild, you'll need two weapons of different types. I recommend a blade of some sort and a ranged weapon of some sort, but the choice is entirely yours. Ask around to find your local weapon shop where you can buy some weapons. I'll make some suggestions as to weapons types to train later on. You'll also need armor to cover your whole body. Make sure you get some items that cover your head, neck, eyes, chest, arms, hands, abdomen, back, and legs. A suit of leather or chain will get you set up nicely, and can usually be purchased for fairly cheap at your local armor shop.

If you check your INFO (type INFO in the game), you'll see your starting statistics, or stats. These are strength, stamina, agility, reflex, discipline, intelligence, wisdom and charisma. To find out a bit more about what these different stats do for you, type their name, and you'll be rewarded with a bit of information as to how they help you in your everyday life. Training a statistic will cost you TDP's, or Time Development Points. You can see how many current TDP's you have on the INFO report as well. You earn TDP's by either training skills, or by earning promotions within your guild. You can spend your TDP's at various training sites around town (type DIRECTION for help on how to get to any of the stat trainers). After you've gotten yourself better equipped, and trained a stat or two, head to the bank to deposit any remaining coin you have. It's always a good idea never to carry more coin than you are going to use right away, since the bank is not prone to folks with sticky fingers.

Now you should take some time to meet your local Guild Leader. If you're fairly new, you're either in Crossing or in Riverhaven. The Guild Leader in Crossing is Agonar. He's a gruff sort, but he's who you should talk to when you want to join the guild, learn some new roars, and get promotions, if you are ready and worthy! The Crossing Guild is located on Champions' Square. You can ask for DIRECTIONs (type DIRECTION in the game) if you need help finding the place.

In Riverhaven, Haven as it's called by the locals, the town I call home, Mo is our Guild Leader. He knows a few different roars than Agonar, but can promote you just the same. You can find Mo in our Guild, which is just outside of the Southwest Gate of Haven and then a couple steps northwest.

When you're standing in front of a Guild Leader, you can JOIN the Guild (type Join and take a bit of time to read the information the Guild Leader will tell you). You'll need a certain level of stats in order to join the Barb Guild, and the Guild Leader should offer to help you train up those stats if you don't have them high enough yet.

There's other Guild Leaders around the lands. There's T'kiel in Steel Claw Clan by the town of Shard, Ann'shere on the isle of Ratha, Tusfaov out on M'riss, and I hear a new dwarven lass has set up temporary shop out in Knife Clan while her Guild Hall is being finished. Each of these folks can teach you a few different roars.

What's that you say? What are roars? Well, I reckon I forgot to tell you a bit about them. Me wife does say I tend to ramble a bit. I'll cover Roars and our other abilities in a bit. For now, let's talk about advancing through the ranks.
