| I. Introduction B. Who Are Moon Mages and What Do They Do? Moon Mages are scholars and masters of foresight. Magic is their primary skill, with Lore and Survival as secondary skills. Moon Mages are not required to learn weapon or armor skills, but many Moon Mages do hunt. Those who hunt often use Medium Edged weapons (because the magic Moonblade they can create is also Medium Edged) and Leather or Light Chain armor. Moon Mages must learn Mechanical Lore (forage for vines or twigs and combine them, break and combine powder, crush herbs in a mortar, carve a cane from a branch, use a wayerd pyramid, or use an unlonchai bucket). Moon Mages make predictions for the future, and use tools like divination bones or tokka cards to aid them in predicting. Divination bones can be purchased in Therenborough and sometimes from travelling merchants. Additional prediction tools, some pertaining to each of the six particular Sects of Moon Mage Magic, are expected to become available in the near future. There are more types of Moon Mages than you can imagine. Some become physically powerful, tough fighters, some are very scholarly, and some like survival skills. It all depends on which skills you enjoy, train, and practice. |
