IV. Hunting and Fighting

A. What Armor Is Recommended and Why?

Most Moon Mages choose leather or light chain. You can work the hinderance of either leather or chain armor down to 20%, lightly hindered. Light chain offers better protection and is usually even lighter than leather. Leather is cheaper for beginners and makes hiding a bit easier. Ask someone to grab you a free cuirbouilli coat from the Rock Troll hunting area, and buy a helm, aventail, greaves, and gloves for an inexpensive start. A few Moon Mages use heavier armor (even heavy plate), but it makes hunting, standing, and hiding much more difficult and you will not be able to train down your armor hinderance as low (heavy plate to 50%). Moon Mages are not required to hunt, and some wear no armor at all.
