I. Getting Started A. What is a Ranger and how do I find the guild? 1. What is a Ranger? That's a very good question. Rangers are many things, but one good term for them might be "Nature's Guardians." Kalika, the leader of the Crossing Ranger Guild, has this to say about rangers, "If you know anything about being a ranger, then you know we are most comfortable within walls of living cedar, not dead stone. In fact, you might even say that the free, open elements are where we are in our element. The confining walls of the city will eventually weaken us." Simply put we are the guardians of the forests, the keepers of the woodland creatures. We live in the wilds by using our wits and our skills. You will soon learn you need few things you can't create on your own. But for now, you have the questions we were all born with. May these questions be only your first, and the answers never stop coming. 2. Where is the Ranger Guild? Well, since you are starting in the fine city of The Crossing, once you leave the confines of Jadewater Mansion, just Type DIR Ranger. That should give you specific directions there, for those of you that prefer to wander a bit and explore, the Ranger Guild can be found on the Northwest side of town. |
