I. Getting Started

B. Stats - what they are and what they do

1. Take a moment to look at your statistics, this will tell you what your strengths are, what you were born with. Type the command: INFOrmation to see your Stats. After learning a bit more of what each statistic is, you will want to train. We will talk about how to train after you understand what you wish to train in and why.

a) STRENGTH
Strength is how strong you are, how much stuff you can carry before you fall down, and how fast you can swing a weapon. A ranger should be strong enough to swim without getting overly tired, hunt without becoming overly fatigued, and be able to carry the loot and skins they get from the beasts.

b) AGILITY
Agility is how well you put your hands or things in your hands, where your eyes tell you they should be placed. A ranger will wish to be agile enough for quick kills with his bows, successfully skin a creature, and to disarm treasure chests without blowing him or herself up.

c) DISCIPLINE
Discipline is how well you can keep paying attention to what you're doing, even when someone or something else is trying to distract you. A well-disciplined ranger can control and cast the spells they are granted after growing to his 5th circle.

d) INTELLIGENCE
Intelligence is how well you learn your skills. An intelligent ranger can turn their hard work into actively learned skills; their mind empties faster so his rest periods are shorter.

e) REFLEX
Good reflexes let you dodge attacks well. A ranger with good reflexes can evade critters instead of being hit. This is a very important thing to remember when you live your life in leather armor.

f) CHARISMA
Charisma is how well you can persuade people to listen to you. It has very little to do with how handsome or how pretty you are. A charismatic ranger can befriend a companion when the time comes.

g) WISDOM
Wisdom is how quickly you understand the skills you've learned. A wise ranger will learn quickly, the ability to learn being likened to a bucket, the larger the bucket, the more he or she can learn without resting. When teamed with good intelligence these are two of the most important statistics to understand.

h) STAMINA
Stamina is your endurance - how long you can carry the load you have. It is also how healthy you are in general. A ranger with good stamina can hunt without tiring; drag a friend without collapsing from fatigue. A Ranger who trains their stamina high enough can withstand physical damage better and can carry a heavier load.
