| II. Basic Training: |
|
Once you're ready, your next step is to go train up your statistics before joining the guild. If you are short on any of the base requirements, be certain to fix that. But as long as you're training, you should go ahead and train until you have used all your TDPs. When it comes to statistics training there are certain things you will need to think about. If you plan to work on your combat skills at all, you'll need basic strength and stamina. Your mental abilities of discipline, wisdom and intelligence will help you with your learning, and your reflexes and agility will also be important for combat and survival training. Charisma, however, is the single most important statistic for a trader. Our bonuses in buying and selling hinge on our charm, our ability to ‘sweet talk' the merchants into giving us a better deal. Don't invest everything you have into it at first, but keep it in mind and train it as often as you can afford to without skimping on your other needs. Balance in most of your stats will be helpful – having a higher charisma will increase your profits. Basic recommendation for any guild: Get all your statistics up to 10 that aren't already, then work your statistics in sets according to your guild or training requirements. If they are all at 10, then work strength/stamina, agility/reflex if you are combat geared. Intelligence/wisdom, discipline/charisma if you are magic or lore based. Traders are a lore primary guild, but those who want to be more skilled in combat or who expect to be physically hauling goods to market need a bit more strength and stamina than others. To learn more about individual statistics and what they do, type the statistic name in game. For example, type INTELLIGENCE to see information on that statistic. To find the training halls to do your training, you can simply type DIR (statistic), such as DIR STRENGTH. When you arrive at the spot, type STUDY twice to increase that statistic by one point. Repeat that until you are satisfied. INFO will show your total statistics. Training your statistics uses up your TDPs, and also adds to your provincial debt. Don't worry about the debt, we'll go into that later. You'll get more TDPs as well as you learn and advance in your guild. |
