| I. INTRODUCTION: A. WHAT IS A WARRIOR MAGE? Guildmaster Gauthus gets at the heart of what a Warrior Mage is when he states, "A Warrior Mage is a master of the six elements of our world, and can bend them to his will. Our powers are great, and so is the responsibility." A Warrior Mage manipulates the elements around him to provide a desired effect, whether that be to aid him in combat, call a refreshing breeze, or summon massive fireballs. However, these powers are not bestowed upon just anyone, for they must be attained through long, disciplined work. The title of Warrior Mage derives from the time when the Council ruled the Citadel of Chyolvea Tayeu'a and protected the lands from the packs of dangerous creatures that inhabited the area. The Warrior Mage was a symbol of this guardian relationship and is still expected to wield power in a responsible way for the benefit of the lands around them. |
