A WARRIOR MAGE E. ARMOR AND WEAPONS Armor: There are three main types of armor: leather, chain, and plate. Each has its own subdivisions, with the exception being leather. Chain is broken down in two divisions: light chain, and heavy chain, and plate has two divisions as well: light plate and heavy plate. Leather armor is very supple and easy to move in, though it doesn't offer the greatest protection. The idea behind leather armor is that you can't hurt what you can't hit. Leather is also very useful for those that like to hide more easily. Light Chain offers a bit better protection than leather, though it is heavier and more hindering to your movements, including evasion skill. It's a middle of the road armor, with decent protection and is still relatively easy to maneuver in. Heavy Chain on the other hand offers an even higher amount of protection than light chain, but it's also heavier and more cumbersome. It is also a middle of the road armor, offering decent protection and somewhat decent maneuverability. These armors are for the people who want to be able to take a few licks and still be able to dodge a portion of attacks. Plate armor is definitely the most durable and hindering of all the armors. Light plate weighs about the same as heavy chain. It offers slightly more protection than heavy chain and slightly more hindrance. Heavy Plate is the ultimate in defense... the most protective of all armors, as well as the most cumbersome, and heaviest of them. Heavy Plate lets you take a lot of licks without getting so much as a scratch, though it makes it very difficult to maneuver in. Hiding and some other tasks become nearly impossible. These types of armor are for the person who wants the best protection available but doesn't mind being weighed down. |
