Ailyssa Golden-Hair

I was birthed many a year ago. I am told upon the Isle of Aesry Surlaenis'a. I am the second child of an Elven Bardess and Human Ranger.

Twas but when I was still a wee babe our family did travel to Leth Deriel to settle a home, this I am told. Twas a wonderful home, where my brother Tilaron, a Ranger did learn of my Da's skills. Unfortunately, I do nay recall of the wonderous times, they be yanked from my mind fully. From Tilaron I have learned these great tales, of which I now speak, for our home was ravaged upon by rabid snowbeasts.

Twas a vicious, rogue snowbeast did set upon our home. Tilaron did tell of my mother being found, savagely clawed to death in our home. Da left to seek the beast and extract the Golden's revenge upon it. Tis Tilaron that then did seek of his wee sister, for I was not to be found. Twas many a day, and many an hour, but alas Da did nay return, and Tilaron did nay find a sign of me.

Tis my memories vague of my true family, for tis my Ma and Da that sheltered me that I recall of the best. They be my family I do recall, Human Traders of Leth Deriel.

Upon my 8th celebration of my birth, as my family called upon the day they did find me wrapped with an Elven robe, that I did wander about the Leth Deriel singing to the wind and sun, that a Elven Ranger did espy upon me. The face he did say, was familiar, for I look as my Ma and the voice be of hers.

That fateful day remains in my mind as both joyous and grievious. The new beginning, and the sadness of loss. Upon our long reunion of sorts, my loving brother did meet upon my family, and did request to take upon him the rearing of this spriteful lil singer.

We did then travel the roads anew to me, north to the Province of Therenborough, where upon I did meet of many of my now dearest friends. Twas they, the Order of the Black Foxes as we now be called, did take upon the rearing of me. Twas the happiest of memories, the long walks upon the banks of the lake, riding piggyback upon my Uncle Chadda, as he is known to me, playing games, learning songs.

Twas no question of the guild I did choose, for I was born with the song in my heart, and the grace of Faenella in my voice. Twas my deepest honor the day I did join of the Guild of the Bards, for tis my calling from the first beat of my heart. Tis also my deepest honor to serve of the Lady Faenella and to spread her love of song upon those in my travels.

This brings us close to this date but for one part of my life. Twas a fateful day the day of which I will now put with quill to scroll. Twas a day of which those whom know me, know my ways, I was but lost in the caverns of the Beisswurms and Cave Bears. Twas after many hours of wandering around in seemingly circles, that I did call upon the gweths for a kindly person to aid me in direction.

Twas a voice I did hear of both kindness and teasing, one unknown to me at the time. Twas with his guidance and direction I did find the concealed hole to leave the dark and dank place I had wandered into aimlessly. From that day forth twas he that did offer his guidance, guardianship, and help to me. Twas to be expected I should say, that a love did flicker and then burn upon my heart, and with deepest honor and happiness I am know to be his wife in name and in love. Tis the most joyous of days that I do travel now, known to many as Aily, and proudly bearing the ring of the Custos family.

So iffen ye does see of me, and my husband Sir Candidus Custos, do know that with a happy heart, I do put quill to rest, and wish of thee that Faenella may guide yer steps.

Poet Ailyssa Golden-Hair, wife of Sir Candidus Custos
