Azkaban Azkaban was the only son of two farming folk. He was born at their home in a small farming town near Leth Deriel. Azkaban lost his parents when he was about two, to a gang of mercenaries who were returning home drunk after a not so successful expedition. Nuns took him to the Temple in Leth Deriel, where he was raised and educated with many other orphaned Elves. During his upbringing in the church, Azkaban found his devotions grow toward the Goddess Faenella, guardian of Elves. And it was Faenella that intoned the vision of Music to him, prompting him to join the guild of Bards. Upon his arrival in the Crossing, he was told of a group of Elves calling themselves the Faery Brothers (an Elven brotherhood under the guidance of Faenella). Although they each had their own story, they shared common goals and ambitions. Azkaban found and approached this group seeking advice and guidance. He was welcomed into this brotherhood and now rises among them. Azkaban enjoys his own company and is quite able to spend long periods alone studying, writing, or practicing music. Azkaban is a wanderer, spending only short periods of time in any given town. He calls no place home (though he pays taxes in Aesry Surlaenis'a), but seeks the libraries, temples, and guildhalls of the Realms to offer respite from travels. During his stays, Azkaban can oft be found recounting tales of his journeys to whomever will listen. Azkaban is a well-educated Bard. His tone and manner reflect his time spent in the temples and libraries of Leth Deriel. Azkaban is a minimalist, carrying only what he needs to survive, study, and practice music. His possessions are few and of reasonable quality. Azkaban has always felt a call to arms and spends a good deal of time hunting. He hunts mainly to survive, but also so that he will be ready to defend his God, race, guild, or brotherhood should the need arise. His devotion to his God and family is unwavering. Though he enjoys solitude, Azkaban will always participate in any activity that furthers his ability and study of music, hence his position in the Tavern Troupe. Although he has spent many hours in the libraries, Azkaban's passion for songwriting has only recently been awakened, the development of which he hopes to further within the troupe. |
