Bolrog As far back as I can remember, I was raised as an orphan in the Paladin guild. That's what they tell me, at least. Beren took me in, and I can remember his guiding hand. Granted it was usually guiding me to the mop and bucket to clean the floor of the guild, I like to think that he brought me up well. So all my life, I grew up around Paladins. It was only fitting that I become one. One day, after 18 years of labor for the guild, Beren clasped a hand on my shoulder and informed me that it was time to begin my training. My life as a Paladin began there. After that day, my daily schedule consisted of rising, maybe grabbing a bite to eat, and then heading out to the shipyard to try out some new combat techniques. Studies were, and continue to be, an important part of my day. Beren insisted that I be fit in mind and body. He trained me hard, but once in a while I was able to escape and enjoy myself. One of these times, Rewqua, an Elven Warrior Mage and I were wandering on the Northern Trade Route trying to find something to do. After a while, we came upon some mines near the Stone Clan and decided to have a look. Both of us had no knowledge of the wildlife in the area, and as luck would have it, we stumbled into a room full of bears. I drew my broadsword and covered Rewqua to the best of my abilities. The bear advanced and after a few swings, both Rewqua and I lie dead on the ground. This experience drove me to train harder so that next time I might be able to save my friend. But one good thing came out of this, noble instincts, I learned, were set in. I had given my life trying to save another. I had promised one thing to Beren when he took me in. One day, I would be able to help those of the guild who are in my same position. This is why I joined the mentor society, to fullfill my promise to Beren. |
