Brablo Grimshandler

Hello, my name is Brablo. I am currently a Gor'Tog Barbarian, and I hear you want to know about my life.

Well now, where do I begin? I know, I'll start at the beginning.

I grew up in a small town north of Therenborough. Bet you didn't know there was a town up there, but there is. It is mainly a 'Tog town, and we specialize in making quality weapons. Well, I spent most of my days learning how to properly cool down the weapons so that they would not break when they were used, but unfortunately I was not good at this.

Too many of the weapons that I worked on broke, and the merchants that we supplied them to were getting upset. The town decided that one of two things should happen. Either I had to find another way to earn my keep in the town, or I had to leave. I choose the latter, and so have not seen my family in nearly ten years.

Well, after I left the village, I headed south. I wanted to get a ways away from the village, and headed down to the Crossing. At that time the Crossing was no more populated than a small village, with a couple shops and a trading outpost. It was mainly wilderness around there that had to be tamed.

I figured that would be a great place to start my new life. When I got there the first thing I did was pick myself up some armor and a sword and started to teach myself how to use it. One never knew when one would need it.

A couple years after I moved to the Crossing it started to change and grow. And then two years later I joined the Barbarian guild.

Well, I lived in the Crossing up to about the time I hit 10th circle, then I decided to migrate south to Shard. I mean, those rock trolls and reavers just did not seem to give me the experience I wanted. I decided to go try my luck with gargoyles. Bad decision.

The first time I went after them I was found dead, but I was lucky enough to run into someone who gwethed for an empath and a cleric, and I was resurrected. That was my first resurrection, but not my first death by any means.

Speaking of the gwethdesuan, let me tell you a bit about what that is. It is a piece of jewelry that can be worn on the head. When you concentrate, it picks up your thoughts and sends them to all the other people wearing a gwethdesuan of the correct type. Yes, I know it sounds strange, but that is what it does.

Okay, guess that is the old gwethdesuans that I am thinking of. Nowadays, gwethdesuans just aren't the quality they were then; they have to be touched for use for a limited time. Two of the new ones will listen only, while two of them will send and receive. Back then there were only two types. Both sent and received, and they worked until you died, then they had to be turned back on.

Okay, now back to my story. Well, I figured out then that it was probably too soon to go hunting gargs, so I started hunting the rock trolls out the south gate of Shard. I mean, yeah, that may be the reason I came south, to hunt something a little harder, but gargoyles were too hard, and the other creatures around the area were just too easy. Then what happened, you ask? Well, rock trolls went through some sort of training course from what I gather, and all of a sudden they were hitting a lot harder and I was having trouble staying alive in there. That's when I decided it was time to move back north, so I packed up my belongings and left Shard.

I didn't particularly want to live in the Crossing anymore, so I went through that city and ended up settling down in the town of Riverhaven. At the time it was a nice place, but it was a pain to take the ferry. I mean, every time I wanted to go hunting, I had to take the ferry, but the people up there seemed so much more friendlier.

Well, I stayed there until I hit I believe 12th, then I decided to go up to Therenborough, close to my old town, and try my luck with these creatures that were rumored to live outside Theren. Oh, you want to know what they are called? Sorry, I almost forgot. The gypsy marauders.

Now, my first experience with them was not a fun one. This was also back in the days when I wore leather, if I remember right. I mean, I started with leather, switched to heavy chain, went back to leather, and then back to heavy chain again. These days, I work both about evenly, as well as some other armors.

Well, the first time I went into marauders I ended up dying relatively quickly. I was doing pretty good, and then what happened? A second one showed up. Once it arrived, I was killed in a really short time.

That was when I decided to go back to Riverhaven. I went back there for a while, gained a few circles, and met one of my good friends, Iluana, during this time. I sure miss her. I started to hunt crocodiles on a regular basis during this time until I hit 15th or so. Then I started hunting swamp trolls, which I did pretty well against. I did that for a while, but finding a spot that was unoccupied and that trolls would actually show up at on a semi-regular basis was next to impossible, so I decided to go try my luck in crocs some more. I did this until I hit 16th, I believe.

Then I moved down to Shard again, and was enjoying hunting gargoyles until, what happens? The gargs must have contacted the rock trolls' trainer from earlier, because they hit me on a more regular basis and harder, so I moved again, and that time it was to where I live now.

I moved up to Therenborough, and started hunting marauders on a regular basis. It was up there that I have met a few of the good friends that I have now, namely Realmswalker and Whump, along with a few others. It took me a little while to do decently up there on a regular basis. I did take a couple trips down to UnderShard during this time, but for the most part I stayed up in Therenborough, and I must say I sure enjoyed it up there.

I finally left Therenborough when I was about 22nd or 23rd. I moved back to Riverhaven for a brief while and tried my luck in vipers and stone guardians, which I enjoyed, but about the time I hit 24th or 25th a new boat was built that went to an undiscovered area.

I made a couple trips out there and have been traveling between the islands and mainland quite a bit the last couple years.

These days I'm around the Crossing, but who knows, you might run into me on the islands. It just depends on what I feel like hunting.

Oh, I left something out, you say? What I hunted out on those islands and after I moved back to Riverhaven from Therenborough? I did not go into enough detail. Well, that will have to wait until next time.

Until we meet again.
