Kamasha De'Faren

As you walk up the cobblestone path you hear faint sounds of giggles come from inside a tiny brick cottage surrounded by a garden of white roses, sunflowers and willow trees. Just as you raise your hand to knock on the door you hear the loud bellowing laugh of men and the strong oak door flies open. Your eyes open wide with surprise as you see standing before you three large barbarian men. They, looking just as surprised, bow to you respectfully. Then from behind then you hear giggles and a cheery voice.

"Well, let them in, you silly men! Don't just stand there," says a young woman with a giggle in her voice as she pushes them gently aside, away from the door.

She gives you a warm smile and a quick wink as she hugs them all and shoos them off out the door. You notice she is a tiny Human with golden hair and violet eyes, dressed in deep green and glittering gold clothes in the style of the Fae. Her cheeks seem to sparkle as she smiles. As she closes the door behind them you take a quick glance around the tiny cottage and see the crests of the Clerics' and Barbarians' guilds hanging with pride from the wall over a fireplace.

"Welcome to my home! I am Kamasha De'Faren," she says, giggling at you. "Come sit with me and my mother." She directs you with her hand to a willow tree wood table.

"This is my mother, Angelanthasia," she says to you, smiling.

At the table you see a golden-eyed Elven woman, also dressed like a Fae, playing a violin softly. She stops briefly just long enough to give you a smile and a tickle. You hear a squawk come from a corner, where you see a white falcon sitting on a stand made of willow branches. She pets it tenderly and whispers a few gentle words to it, seeming to calm it down some, then continues to play her violin, cheerfully yet softly.

"The two Human Barbarians you saw leave were my father Valissen and my son Rimode. The third Elven Barbarian was my...."

The door suddenly opens again and you see third Barbarian she was about to name poke his head in the door and give her a look of warm concern. She glances at the door and babbles at him, giggling, and shoos him out the door again. But before she does, he manages to give you a glance, narrow his eyes, and close the door as you hear him grumbling to himself.

She sits down, giggling, and smiles at you. "...and that was my husband, Tarintis."

"So, you have come to learn a little about little me?" she asks you, then glances at her mother and giggles.

"Well, if you travel deep into Leth you will find a quiet little corner called the Fae ring. I was born there amongst the laugher of children and those closest to my mother's heart, the Fae. It was a warm summer's night when all three moons where full when my mother gave birth to me under a great weeping willow tree. There were fireflies hovering all about, and in the distance you could hear the Fae in the faerie ring, dancing and singing as if they where celebrating my birth and praising Faenella," she says, smiling at you. You could swear you hear faint laugher come from nearby and see a little glowing movement out of the corner of your eye, but you dismiss it to just the sunlight coming through the door as it fades, and continue to listen.

"I grew up in this wonderful place," she continues. "It was a place of love and harmony, where no evil could go or be felt. A place most only see as a child in their dreams. When I got older my mother and father brought me out of my sheltered life and showed me the ways of Elanthia. They showed me the beauty, kindness, evil, and the struggles of Elanthia. My father taught me of the ways of the people and how to hold myself since the ways of this land are much different from the Fae ring I called home. He showed me the troubles and how, with the guidance of Everild, to remain strong with pride. He taught me to also respect all those around me. One thing that caught my attention was my father's great respect of clerics and elders. Wanting to please my father like any child does, I took a interest in the ways of the clerics. I watched them a little closer wondering where this respect they received from my father came from. At the same time my mother taught me kindness and showed me the places of beauty where I still go. She taught me of Faenella and her ways, and the ways of the Fae and their dedication to her. With these to influences and seeing the ways of the land, there was no doubt in my mind; I was to be a cleric." She takes a moment to pause and pours you and her mother some tea.

"My father taught me to fight and defend myself and followed my progress closely, making sure I grew strong. My mother continued to teach me in the ways of Faenella. I worked my skills, and in some ways many told me I was a barbarian trying to be a cleric, but I never forgot my guild and worked hard, and with some time I was set free on my own to continue my studies."

"While on my own for a time, I had ups and downs like anyone, and made many mistakes along with my achievements. It was around this time that I met my love, Tarintis. He was an Elven barb that caught my eye with his strong will and his ability to die 5 times in 30 minutes in a same area I was in." She giggles and blushes at you softly. "When someone dies that often you figure they are either strong willed or just stubborn."

She glances at the door briefly and says in a whisper, "Personally, I think it is a bit of both." She glances at her mother and they giggle at each other. Then you hear that faint laughter again and see gold flecks in the air, but quickly turn your attention back to Kamasha when she starts to take a more serious tone.

"When my faith was wavering and I was not sure if this was the right path for me, it was his strong will and stubbornness that I needed to look at it all anew from a different perspective and try to see what I was doing. He encouraged me to continue, and with his help and that of my family, I made it, and here I am now. I am still young compared to many, but I hope to still grow everyday and learn more everyday."

"The gods have ways of working in your heart and soul to keep you on your toes," she says with a cheerful giggle.

"Now I just hope to help others in this land and to make their journies here as nice of a start as mine was. Some struggle here, and are not so lucky as I was to have someone take them under their wing. It is wonderful here, and everyone is needed and welcomed with open arms... and of course, a little pixie dust." You then notice her mother reach into a small pouch and sprinkle some glittering powder all over you. You hear a faint giggle and laughter, and see the small, soft glows fly around you again as your sight turns into a blur.

After what seems like hours you wake up laying on your back in some lush, deep green grass near town. You rub your eyes briefly and then blink in amazement to see a tiny pixie sitting on your chest. She giggles, tweaks your nose, and flies off.
