Michie My mother, Imzadi, was the kindest and gentlest soul in the realms. When children were born and abandoned, she and my father took them in and made them their own. My father, Iolauss doted on her. He also had a wonderful kind heart. He was completely lost when Mom was out adventuring without him. Together they instilled a strong sense of honor and respect and tolerance into each of us. As my brothers began to earn enough to help support the family, my mother and father went exploring the lands on a well-deserved leave. I took over the care for my brothers and sisters, being the oldest girlchild. My parents taught us to lead by example, and I endeavored to teach my younger siblings in the same manner. I still miss my mom and dad. They have never returned from that last adventure. We still set a place for them at the table when I am home in Riverhaven. When my younger brothers and sisters were no longer needing my help so much, I left the homestead and chose to be a Bard by profession. I love being a bard. I have yet to find the situation that I cannot find a way to be of help. It was the spirit of sharing and aiding others that made this profession so perfect for me. It was, in fact, while learning my craft in the Bard guild in Haven that I met my mate, Sharuul, patron-te-bards, Barb-Ranger-Mage, and Warmie extraordinaire. After a very long courtship dance, we married. Not an average wedding, no, not for two such extraordinary people. At a ceremony held at the Baron's festival in Theren, we were launched into marriage by catapult, manned by Gurt-the-Great. The groom did a double somersault with a twist and landed gracefully on his feet in front of the Priest. The bride, however, was nae so lucky, after a misfire which caused Gurt to run into the wedding room exclaiming "I flunged her too far!", the bride skidded to a stop on her arse at the grooms feet and the wedding began. At the reception, the bride and groom were drenched in the dunking tank by many well-wishers (at least... that was their excuse). Sharuul and I had a daughter who went on a quest to find her grandparents, and, like them has failed to return. We have 14 grandchildren, and 5 great granchildren (least at last count) most of whom have gone to far ends of the lands to study and help people, following family tradition. Now my helping nature has led me to the Mentor's society where I can continue the work I started with my siblings. I look forward to seeing you there. And since Sharuul has promised me another wedding, yer all invited! |
