Praise GlorySong

Hello, I am known throughout Elanthia as Praise GlorySong, Cleric of Hodierna. I was born on the 4th day of the 10th month of Nissa The Maiden in the year of the Amber Phoenix 318. My name is the one I assumed upon reaching majority.

I shall share briefly my history with you as I have been told it, and from what I recall. My parents, Nogs and Parisine were young Eloths, he a bard and she the middle child of a respected Lorethew. Unfortunately for them, but fortunately for me, they met and fell in love. Elothian culture what is is, this joining was frowned upon severely by both families. All of my Grandparents conspired to keep the young lovers apart. My father was sent to Shard to study and my mother was shipped to Theren to be closeted in the Keep. Glory, my mother's lady in waiting watched daily as Parisine wasted away.

Meanwhile in shard, my father had enlisted a Tog to search the lands for word of his love. Each had dispaired of ever seeing the other, when the slow but faithful Tog heard word of a Lady being held in Theren. Investigating, he felt sure he had ended his long search. He contacted the waiting lady Glory who broke the good news to my mother. Once they had located each other, notes were smuggled in and out of the Keep as they hatched a plot to meet. On the appointed day, my mother slipped out of the Keep and headed to Kaerna. Nogs hastened from Shard and joyously they were reuinited. Now came the question of how to spend their lives. Not daring to return to Crossing, they pooled their meger wealth, purchased a few items to sell and together set off to wander the lands as itinerant merchants, plying their wares from one end of the civilized world to the other.

Thus was my childhood spent never staying in one place long enough to be known. It seems this vagabond nature is firmly set into my psyche as I cannot seem to roost in one spot for more than two months time. I have only the losest ties with Elothian history because of this, and though I am ignorant of many of our ways, I am proud of my heritage.

The many faces of the people of Elanthia have been mine to study since my earliest days and I have been intrigued by the differences and similarities found in all the races and areas. As a child I can recall begging Hodierna to light the path we would travel that night, for a moonless night in a wild area can quickly bring one to an appreciation of, and a need to be on speaking terms with your God. As I grew, my devotion to Hodierna increased and I began to see her hand in all my days. In her name I decided to minister to the earthly needs of Elanthian citizens as a way of bringing them into her fold.

As far as myself, I have been blessed with the Gift of Life but my actions are only the cherry on top of the cake. I am nothing without the draggers, harnessers, healers, and guarders. I thank those who stop to help me in my efforts. I do ask for payment for my services but in a form not usually encountered. All those newly living by my hand are asked to stop, when they could easily walk on by, and help another, five times. If they do this, then my work is well done, and all Elanthia benefits many times over as this spreads. I am honest, earnest and dilligent but not holy. I am a woman and subject to all the desires of a life being lived. Now that you have read my story, if we meet, stop and say hello. Till then, ay ye road be straight, ye load light, ye arm strong and ye aim true. But most of all,

May Hodierna light ye path and guide ye safely home.

Praise GlorySong Spreader of the Light of Hodierna.
