RULES OF THE LEXICON GAME

The rules for this game are pretty easy. It is based on an old game ‘Simon Says”. What is expected from each participant – is to be able to repeat the action of a Mentor Host, using correct verb. There will be a few rounds, each about 30 seconds in length and the player who knew and correctly repeated more verbs will win at the end.

For example: if you’ll see a Host Mentor saying, “Repeat after me” and you’ll see: “Mentor X slowly and deliberately empties his filled lungs”, that means that Mentor X just used a verb <EXHALE> and in order to win – you just need to repeat it.
Keep in mind that in many cases you’ll be asked to repeat a combined verb. For example, if you’ll se a Mentor “releases a slow, low whistle” – that would mean that Mentor just used a verb <EXHALE> combined with his own name, as in <EXHALE><yourself>.

One of the rules is for your attempt to be counted as a correct one – you need to chose and demonstrate a verb on a first try during those 30 seconds. After each round is over, Mentor will tell you the verb he used and will show other uses for this verb, as well. If you’ll see that you cannot repeat a whole lot of verbs – do not let it discourage you! Do not quit – keep trying to guess. Keep in mind the ability to “combine” verbs with other names and different objects around you and feel free to “play” with them. This game will teach you a lot and you will finish it, knowing dozens of new ways to express yourself in game.

At the end, everyone will receive some complimentary gift and winners will get to choose their own prizes!
