London Sights

On Tuesday we went to Greenwich. Getting there required a couple of different Underground lines as well as taking Brit Rail. This is perhaps a good time to mention transportation in London. It was amazingly easy to get around. The Underground seemed to go within a block or two of everything we wanted to see. After 9:30 am you can buy a travel card good for the rest of the day. It not only works on the Underground, but on buses and on Brit Rail as well.

We got to Greenwich and went in search of the observatory. One thing about Greenwich: if you set your watch according to their clock, you KNOW it's right!

Greenwich is, of course, the home of the Prime Meridian. And how can you resist taking a picture with one foot in each hemisphere?

Quote of the Day: Get out of my hemisphere! -- David Duda

Fortunately, he let me in his hemisphere to take this picture!

I left Paul and David to explore the Maritime Museum and went back to the hotel for a bit. Once they returned, we all went to that mecca of consumerism, Harrod's! Harrod's is more than a store, it's an institution. We all ended up buying something before we left (and they say guys don't like to shop!). We also all ended up going back at least once to buy some more. On my second trip to Harrod's, I had tea.
