London Sights

On Thursday we went back to Buckingham Palace for the changing of the guard. These guys definitely have experience with these ceremonies. There was a rather large crowd, even for a January morning. I'd hate to see what it looks like during the summer! One of the more interesting ideas was the short concert they provided during the ceremony. I would have expected military songs or a rousing rendition of "God Save the Queen." Instead, they played selections from West Side Story!

That evening Paul and I returned to our favorite pub, the Rat and Parrot for a real pub dinner of fish and chips. It's almost scary to think we could manage to have a favorite pub in such a short time! The dinner was quite good! I'd be willing to go back, especially if the cute bartender is still there. David went off on his own since he has a strict policy of not eating anything that swims.
