And a Few More....

COSTUME LINKS

There are many sites on the internet with links to Regency pages. Rather than duplicate many of them, I decided to focus on costume. I hasten to add I am no expert, but Regency dress has become a strong interest of mine.

The links below represent the best I have found (so far) for

1. Researching Regency period costume
2. How to make your own Regency gown and
3. Where to find what you need--patterns, material, accessories
As for where to have one made if you have ten thumbs when sewing, or don't have the time, or don't have the patience, or don't have the creative vision to pull off the elegant ball gown that dances in your imagination--I only have one seamstress to recommend because I learned about her from fortunate experience!

My Regency GownYou see, my most recent endeavor was to have a Regency gown made to wear to the national conference of the Beau Monde, the Regency chapter of Romance Writers of America. The result is wonderful! You may visit the site of the magician (seamstress) who made my gown for me--she has a picture of my gown there, and you will want to see the pictures of the many other beautiful gowns she has made as well while you are visiting.  Her name is Ute Forlano, and her business is Dragonfly Formals. Not only is Ute vastly talented, her prices are extremely reasonable!

Read Jane Austen On Line!

Never read Jane Austen? Here's where you can go on line to read some of her popular novels for free. If you are unfamiliar with her writing, keep in mind she wrote as a contemporary about her time and her style reflects the writing of her period. Enough said.
