Caro Soles

Caro's wrok spans several genres. She has published five novels and two short story collections under a pseudonym as well as two books in a three book science fiction series The Merculians.--The Danger Dance and the Abulon Dance..She edited the erotic gay male fantasy anthologies Bizarre Dreams (lead story by Timothy Findley) and Meltdown! (lead story by Samuel Delany). The latest, Don Juan and Men, was published in 2009.  She has also edited the mystery anthologies: Bloody Words and Blood on the Holly.

Caro has been a participant at genre and literary conventions from New Orleans to Boston to Winnipeg and was the Guest of Honour at Twilight Con in Chicago in September 2000. She has done readings with authors as varied as Michael Ondaadje, Samuel Delany and Peter Robinson.

Caro is also the founder of   Bloody Words,  Canada's first annual conference for readers and writers of mysteries. Her first mystery novel, The Tangled Boy, was published in 2002. Her second, Drag Queen in the Court of Death, was short-listed for a Lambda Literary Award. She teaches writing at George Brown College in Toronto.

Award: The Derrick Murdoch Award for contribution to the mystery field in Canada.
