In late June and early July 2003, I took the following photos in Iowa.

As part of the great Iowa Decommissioning, several state routes were turned over to the respective counties. IA-122, which had run east from Clear Lake to Nora Springs, was truncated at the east city limits of Mason City. This picture looks westward at the new eastern starting point of IA-122.

This is looking eastward from the east city limits of Mason City, at the new ending point of IA-122.

This is looking east on US-30 near the end of the Marshalltown 4-lane segment. Construction is ongoing past this point for an extra set of lanes, with a bypass of Le Grand.

A mostly-completed, but currently unused, segment of the US-30 widening east of Le Grand is visible on the right. Some grading is done past the point where these two sets of lanes converge.
