Not directly on the Avenue of the Saints (US-18 in this area), but about a mile to the north. This sign, on county road B35, directs traffic to US-122 a mile to the north. It is actually IA-122, which replaced US-18 directly in Mason City, when the bypass was opened.

The 4-lane segment of US-218 ends about 4 miles southeast of Charles City. It resumes again at county road C33 northwest of Waverly, but construction is ongoing in a 5 mile stretch from C33 to Plainfield.
