Welcome to Dave's World!

Here you'll find some of the things I'm interested in, some about my outlook on life, some about those who have meant a lot to me over the years, and then just some links that I think are pretty cool. Be sure to sign my Guestbook by clicking on the link at the bottom.

Kelley and David Oberhart 9/27/98

Until recently, I taught communications at Niagara County Community College, which is located in Sanborn, NY. (The social, cultural, and economic "hub" of Niagara County.) However, in February 1998 I was accepted into the Ph.D program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Journalism and Mass Communication. On June 29, 1998, we packed up all our stuff and left Sanborn for Chapel Hill.

Since we moved to North Carolina, things have been pretty strange, but finally something seems to be moving along. I am now an MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) on Windows NT 4.0 so I can work on computers and do the kinds of things I enjoy doing (and hopefully get paid the big bucks to do it!). I am working on the Windows 2000 Accelerated course to get certified in the new operating system.

I'm taking these courses and exams with the help of Magellan University where you can take a ton of online structured and self study courses.
