Pixel
Pixel is Shadoe's successor, but not a replacement. She's also unusual, she's our first female kitten, but not on purpose, I thought she was a he. The vet told us differently. By that time, we'd gotten attached to her.
She's a feisty little one, plays with George just like Shadoe did, but she was only 1/5 of George's size when we got her in May 1997. Now she weighs 16 pounds (she's big-boned ;).
She looks like a white cat wearing a tabby "blanket" on her back and a tabby "hood". She's VERY round-headed, and when she was tiny, her head looked like it was a little too big for her body, so we called her "L'il Punkinhead". She's WAY cute, and very friendly.
She has a huge purr, and if she's on David when he's lying down, she'll reach out and tap his face or his nose, just to make sure he's awake.
Pixel will climb into any garbage can and find something in there to play with. She's especially enamored of tissues and napkins and will pull them out and shred them all over the floor. We had to find empty boxes to put on top of the garbage in our garbage cans so that she wouldn't climb inside and take out the toys that she found in there. We love her very much, and she gets along very well with Cooper the dog. .
She was tiny when we got her, but she grew up fast.
Pixel, with a power tool..... ;)
.....and with her friend Bubba at Christmas time.
She LOVES to be in boxes.
Pixel and Cooper are buddies.
She has lots of friends.
Pixel is the only one of the three cats that we brought with us to North Carolina. She has pretty much adjusted to having a big dog in the house, as you can see. She'd never been exposed to a dog before, so it was a little traumatic for her at first.
Digit and George have moved to friends' houses back in New York. All three of them had me very well-trained to give them Catalax (a hair-ball preventative) every morning, and Pixel still gets it, she demands it. George was the loudest one, but Pixel is making up for his absence. She's a girl though, so she's naturally more demure. (yeah, right!)
Pixel channels each of our other cats. Sometimes she sounds just like Digit, who had a very distinctive vocalization, something like "moe?" or "mao?". She'll crawl on me like George did, although the headbutt is missing. She snuggles extremely well, just like Shadoe and Jean-Luc.
She seems to have a built-in alarm clock that goes off right around 5:30 am, even on the weekends. Her method is to paw at the blankets as if she's trying to dig us out of bed. She CAN be persuaded to lie down, for a little while, but she's quite insistent. We love her anyway, even if she is a tiny butthead.
Our old guest book died! Here's the new one.
