Within the center of the bowl is Cha'Walkas [Chui'lana: Cloud Lake]. Aesry Surlaenis'a's streets curve in a crescent around the lake, with two streets running vertically from terrace to terrace: Staho Lanahh'Mus and Staho Pivo'hrr'shcu'Mus [S'kra: Way of the Rising (Living) Sun and Way of the Setting (Dying) Sun]. The city has three gates: The Eluned Prayer Gate, the Faenella Prayer Gate, and the Peri'el Prayer Gate. Culture: This sanctuary of culture and the arts is primarily Elothean, with Elven and S'kra populations as well. Aesry Surlaenis'a [Gerenshuge: Aesry, "Place"; Surlaenis, "The Ocean's Song"; 'a, "of"; Place of the Ocean's Song] is a religious city, with worshippers from all places making the pilcrimage to the island. Surlaenis Island is the home of the last group of the Ru'atin Peri'el [S'kra: Sisters of Peri'el]. This peaceful city is a haven of learning, sculpting, music, drama, architecture, and religion. History: Surlaenis Island, with its giant Selhin walls and the Twin Sentinels, was one of the few places able to repel the Dragon Priests during the Bloody War.
