Corik of the Black Cloud was once the Ferdahl of the Elothean people, and ruler of Shard, which he built, along with Queen Morganae of the Mountain Elves, who was also Corik's lover.

Corik became involved in the Elven-Human War, and so when the Dragon Priests rose up, his forces were weakened. Dzree tricked Corik and destroyed the city of Shard. In shame, Corik exiled himself.

He later turned up in Stone Clan, where he created magical sentinels to guard the village, and destroyed a creature in the Journalai mines. Corik has not been seen since.
