Submitted: 4 July 1999 USING Talents by an Ancient Mage (Crossing, Zoluren: 132 Shorka 358)As an aside to the account about the misuse of talents, let me relate to you to what some of the Ancient mages used to do. (Hey, if Wyndguard can be Elder, we're certainly ancient.) Long ago, we had an uprising of people wanting to learn their first aid the easy way, and would ask the Warrior Mages to cast at them so they may have "pet" bleeders. Well, a few of us got tired of this gross misuse of abilities.. so we started to give people EXACTLY what they wanted. Say a little novice approached you and asked for a bleeder. Now, rather then getting all indignant, we would ask him if he's sure that's what he wants. If he stated a second time that he in fact DOES want a bleeder, we gave it to him. Just because lightning bolts give only internal bleeders, or a fire shard at full power tears off an arm, that's not your problem. You asked him if he was sure, and you just gave him what he requested. I'll bet they thought twice about approaching a Mage for a bleeder again.
