Submitted: 27 May 1999 Fatal Wounds Ignored? by Hypatia Na-K'Mano (Crossing, Zoluren: 381 Nissa 357)I realize that empaths are or can be very busy people, especially in the Crossing infirmary, but I watched several people asking for help with wounds they could not tend or do anything about, like stumps for legs and dangerous acid, die at the feet of the very empaths that ignored them completely. These same empaths didn't even seem to wake up once these people had died. I guess I can't help but feel that while I realize one might be listening to a class and resting, but to not even say anything to a dying person asking for aid - its just rude. Yes, these people could have seen Martyr and Kaiva, but I've seen more than one person die at their feet as well, because Martyr needed to rest after taking a bit of vitality, leaving the person still unhealed of the very wounds that ended up killing them. Has something changed recently at the Crossing Empath's Guild such that people are simply left to die or are forced to seek help in other places now? And this not even during an invasion. Maybe I'm not being very coherent, but this has upset me greatly. I'm saddened by this trend I've been seeing lately and wish I'd never seen it. Hypatia, Priestess of Chadatru
Baresh will listen to your well-presented viewpoint on this, too.
