Could Lanival Save Us?

Baresh glances at the elf and with a tired sigh replies, "Have you not heard about Lord Sorrow, lass? By Glythtide! He's everywhere. I'm growing sick of the man. Will nothing defeat the fellow?"

"Oh yes. I've heard of him, Baresh. However, I'm not letting that pain in the arse bother me.... I have a theory. Would you care to hear it?" The woman chuckles and accepts the goblet of wine Baresh hands her.

Baresh, blinking in disbelief, flashes her a wide grin. "A theory? Ha! If it can keep my mind off of Lord 'Sura,' I'll be glad to hear it. In fact, speak up lass! You should share your theory with everyone in the tavern... if it's a good one." Baresh slips the elf a wink and smiles.

Blushing furiously, the woman studies the faces around her and begins telling everyone of her theory. "Alright. I will share it with you all. A long time ago, Elanthia had a hero. Perhaps you've heard of him? His name was Lanival. He now sleeps while being healed by his friend Glacis... awaiting to be awoken. Do the legends not state that Lanival our Redeemer will return in Elanthia's time of need?" The woman sighs and continues, "I suppose I heard the wrong stories growing up. No one seems to remember these legends. We are all scared of Sorrow, and we all believe that there is no hope. Maybe Lanival is our hope. O'course... maybe he isn't. All I can say is that faith will get us far. If we have faith in Lanival, we might have a chance. All though, that is just MY theory. Nothing else. The gods gave us our own minds so we are free to believe what we want."
