Submitted: 30 June 1999 In Defense of a Young Paladin... by Sir Glemm Ineoch (Crossing, Zoluren: 10 Lirisa 358)A young, rather tall Gor'Tog strides into the bar confidently, A silver hilt jutting out from a sheath attached to his belt. "A moment of your time, Baresh?" he asks, leaning over the bar. Baresh grunts and nods in his direction; he is counting the coins he has received from adventurers that day. "Well . . . I have seen and heard people talking about this 'rogue paladin' and how he played the evil part in someone's death. I have been around for a bit, and I have taught many young paladins how to use their gifts given to them by the gods, for some have lacked the proper instruction to use them wisely . . . and correctly. (See Venitas' tip about a visual check for a glyph, too.) He may have lied about tracing the glyph of bonding on the person. There are many young knights in the guild that leave something to be desired. But, people should not be so quick to judge an incident without hearing what people have to say. He was most likely just trying to help, but did not trace the glyph correctly. It has happened before, it will happen again. The citizens of the realms seem to have been on edge recently because of a goblin invasion or rumors of war.... I wish no one to be hurt because of this, it is easy to accuse, just please, I say... listen to the facts before passing judgement on someone." Baresh nods in agreement, and answers Glemm only with a knowing smile. Giving Barseh a couple coins, he walks out the door, hoping his words will make a difference, however small, in the lands.
Baresh will listen to your well-presented viewpoint on this, too.
