Submitted: 28 September 2000 Watcher Should Watch Himself by Arsine (Crossing, Zoluren: 340 Dolefaren 362)A Large Toggish warrior steps quietly into the bar and quickly observes the area for threats. Sensing no danger he moves towards the bar and sets himself down easily on a stool. The warrior slams his fist onto the bar and exclaims, "Blood Grog, Barkeep!" Baresh quickly pours the grog, gently places it on the bar, and replies, "The name's Baresh, and who might you be?" The warrior glances evily at Baresh and says, "You may call me Arsine." Baresh glances evenly back to the warrior and says, "Arsine, yes I have heard this name before." The warrior slightly cocks his head to the left and raises and eyebrow in Baresh's direction. "Well," Baresh continues, "It has been brought to my attention that you enjoy provoking the young of Elanthia into fighting for your enjoyment." After an uncomfortable pause the warrior releases a roaring laugh and heartily pats Baresh on the back. Baresh then adds, "I have heard many stories at this very bar but I never pass judgements without hearing both sides of a story" he continues, "So tell me Arsine, are you provoking the youngins?" The warrior takes a deep breath and in a low voice replies, "I suppose that would depend on your definition of provocation. I've been known to throw a few water balls and muss a few heads of hair, however this is not limited to strickly youngins." The warrior pounds his grog and continues, "If your asking me if I hunt down, attack, steal, grave rob or specifically look for fights with yougnins? Then the answer is no. I am a warrior who does enjoy a good fight, however, I would sooner turn down a fight with someone with half the skill of my own then someone with double." Baresh pours another grog and places it on the bar. "So Baresh," the warrior continues, "The one who unfairly drags my name through the mud, who might this be?" Baresh pauses and says, "He does not divulge his name. I only know him as The Watcher." The warrior smirks and says, "Ah yes, he who speaks his peace from obscurity." he continues "This 'Watcher' should spend more time watching himself rather then accusing others." The warrior winks at Baresh. "Good day." he says. The Tog removes himself from the stool, flips a platinum coin onto the bar, and makes his way to the exit.
