Submitted: 5 August 2000 The Bardic Barrier by Derivan Hariar (Crossing, Zoluren: Akroeg 362)A young man enters the bar weilding a syrinx in one hand and a tankard in the other. "Baresh, good man could ye fill er' up?" he says with a wink and hands over the tankard. "Umm, yer finest ale if ye would." As Baresh brings the tankard over the bar the man takes a hesitant seat. "I really don't understand some things Baresh" Baresh chuckles slightly seeming to belive him. "I would think that a barrier is used to keep people back from something" He shrugs suddenly "But the one in our crossing bards' guild seems to just provide a means to place ones drinks" He continues "Obviously whatever Silvyrfrost is payin' the demolision crew ain't enough, mebbe I was thinkin' they given her a hard time it is getting almost as dusty as our new tapestry." Baresh finally finishes filling the tankard and slowly with great effort lugs it up into the mans waiting hands. After swinging it up onto his shoulder the man tosses a gold coin onto the bar and mutters "If I quit drinking I'd be a rich man Baresh, g'day to ye." With that stumbling slowly he makes his way out of the bar. |
