Submitted: 8 June 1999 Delusions of a Kaldar by Desdenyr Cadranis (Crossing, Zoluren: 26th Akroeg 358)A noble, regal, human looking figure canters into the tavern. He looks around once his vigilant eyes taking in everything. He nods and then makes his way to the bar and sits down. "Ah, barkeep I would like some ale to get to remove the stench and the dust of battle out of my mouth." Baresh hands him his order and then goes back to cleaning the glasses making sure they're spotless. "So, stranger what brings you in here, and my name is Baresh by the way" The stranger scowls at nothing in particular, "My names is Desdenyr, and I've come to put to rest the lies of a certain Kaldar having delusions of grandeur." "Delusions of grandeur?" Baresh ask. "Aye, it seems that a certain Kaldar named Sasher as been saying that his tribe lived near a Rakash pack and that they were chased away from their homeland by the Gorbesh." He sneers a little at saying that name. Baresh smiles. "Sasher, I know Sasher." "Hmph, there is no way that light-blinded idiot could've lived near a Rakash pack... for our kind has always lived to the far south, past the tower city of Shard. And as I hear it the Rakash live to the far west with these Prydaen." He sneers at saying those names and drinks his ale. "Ah, so your telling me then friend that you have never dealt with either the Prydaen or Rakash until you came to Crossing?" "Never, there is no way he could've lived near them, he's having delusions, fantasies in his mind maybe. That he says he was a leader for some of our people I scarcely believe as well... for he has as much charisma as a one-armed field goblin." Baresh laughs soundly at that. The Kaldar stands up and grumbles at Baresh. "Thanks for the ale... for someone who lives in these lands your not so bad." He walks to the door and makes his exit, checking that his sword his loose in its sheath.
Baresh will listen to your well-presented viewpoint on this, too.
