The End of the Beginning

Many were the courageous heros, and countless their valorous deeds in the lands surrounding Squire Bluff, and later Kelfour's Landing.

Over time, the Djinni lost much; her followers dwindled in number, her children fled to larger, wilder places, but she persevered. She still provided portals to those who chose her, and served them well enough.

But the Djinni had a new master, who cared nought for her, her ways, or her followers. They ignored her and left her to wither, but still she served those who remained. At last, dismayed at her endurance, her master has ordered her demise. She will end on the 27th of December as the outworlders reckon time. Her portals will close, and the caverns will grow dark, cold, and ever empty. And Elanthia's birthplace will be lost forever.

I know few will care, but for them I must tell this, and I hope you, Baresh will allow this among your tales, though it is not strictly of and for the Realms. She was a good Djinni, and we are the poorer for her loss.
