Why Kerrian? by Clauddvon Maud'divv (Crossing, Zoluren: 363 Nissa 363)A Black Panther trudged through the door and gazes up at Baresh with sorrow in it's eyes. Baresh looks down, arches his eyebrow at the panther, and asks 'What's wrong my friend?' The panther lifts it's head up slowly and says 'You know of a noble man named 'Kerrian?' Baresh jerks his head toward the panther and says in a cheerful voice 'Aye, he's quite a fine man indeed! Is there something wrong?' The panther again lowered his head and said 'He walked tonight. My master is taking it very badly.' 'I tell him that things sometime occur that cannot be explained, but this only saddens him more. I'm afraid I don't know the words to tell him to help him through this rough time in his life.' Baresh bent over and rubbed the panther. 'This it truly a sad day, my friend. You tell your master that he must remember the good times. Kerrian was indeed one of the most kind, sincere, selfless and incorruptible men that I've ever known. He shall go down in my book and every year on this date, I shall offer a silent prayer for his soul.' The panther stands up, gazes up at Baresh and says 'I must go now. My master is calling. I hope he can get over this great pain. Thank you, Baresh, for your encouraging words. I will tell him what you've said.' With that, the panther slowly stands up, turns away and wonders out the door. Baresh then called his bar help over for a moment to keep an eye on things, as he went back to his private room and wept the loss of this truly honorable man. 'Kerrian, you will be missed my friend. You will never leave my mind. You have been and will always hold a very valuable place in my heart. You have been my friend since forever, and I'm sure you had your reasons, as I myself have...in the past. May your paths be watched forever and good things come to you. Your dear friend, Clauddvon Maud'divv |
