S'Kra Elves - The New Clan

by Moruth Dragonstooth

(The Provinces: Akroeg 358)

After many years of the same clans, I have new and startling information.

The story I have to tell really begins in the year of -1003, when the Human/Elven War ended. When the war ended a young S'Kra Mur in the Elven army, Drakan, was rejoicing. In his period of rejoicing, during a large drunken party in the Crossing, a group of five or six humans was brutally murdered. They were beaten violently and had thier heads cut off.

One of the men in the party with Drakan was heard by guards yelling and screaming, they found him and a group standing over a pile of heads and thier matching bodies. When the guards asked, "How did this happen?", they were astonished when one lone S'Kra Mur was pointed at by the crowd of Elves. (It is believed by me and Drakan himself that he was singled out because of rascism).

Drakan, was surprised that his comrades would turn on him so he ran. The guards chased after with crossbows and swords. He managed to escape onto the boat of a trader. He stowed away in a small compartment for a while until he felt it was safe to come out.

When he exited the compartment, he found he was on a boat and Elanthia was miles away. On the boat, was an Elven trader and his beautiful daughter. The trader was surprised to find Drakan so he proceeeded to beat him senseless with a morning star.

When Drakan awakened, he was bloodied and hurt, but the trader's daughter was tending to his wounds.

"Who are ye, maiden?" he asked while coughing up his own blood.

She replied, "I am nae a maiden ye scoundrel and I don't see why I should tell ye my name!"

In response, he sung a song, the lyrics were never recorded but the song supposedly lulled the woman into revealing her name, Fae (after Faenella), the Elven Bardess.

She gradually (as the scroll reads, "under magical influence") fell in love with Drakan as they journeyed around, visiting the islands of Qi'Reshalia.

One night in a storm, the ship was destroyed and washed up upon an uncharted shore. The trader was killed in the storm ("with the mast through his head and his leg left out a sea to be devoured by the kracken of the deep") but Fae and Drakan survived. They could not leave the island because they had no means of transportation.

After three years living on the island, which they had named Drakan, they decided to mate. A year later, they had a child. A young girl named Ghetti. Drakan knew that they could never continue thier family if they could never get off the island. Drakan decided to craft a boat. Out of a hollowed out tree, he made a canoe and out of the branches, a paddle. He told Fae to stay on the island with Ghetti because "in the valiant words of Drakan, 'make it I may not, but I have far too much love for thee to send ye to your death".

He paddled off for a place he could find a suitable mate, Ratha. There he found no one he thought was good enough for his daughter. He searched far over the land until a dream told him to go to the castle. Late one night, he snuck past the guards in a Shadowsilk Cloak and made it safely into the castle. He found there, a baby, a baby boy. The boy though, which was odd, was a human and not a "princely S'Kra". He took the boy anyways (which was adopted by the S'Kra king because at that time, he felt he should have a human child as an act of diplomacy with the humans)and brought it back to the island. Many years passed, Fae and Drakan had many more children, six to be exact, and Ghetti and the human boy, whom they named Dionius grew up.

Now, you must know that Ghetti, as all the other children, was a S'Kra Mur with Elven characteristics.

Once all the childern reached a suitable age, 25, Ghetti and Dionius were married. Drakan fetched other mates for his other children and before long, there were seven happy couples. Dionius, hungry for power, asked for half of the land which he was granted. One of the other couples, Tanganyika and Reynold wanted land too so they asked Drakan for half the land. He siad they could have half of Dionius' land.

Now, I can't be sure why everyone wanted the land even though no one inhabited it, but it is probable that they were filled with minerals and riches.

The rest of the five couples lived on the others land. Three on Dionius' land and two on Reynold's land. Dionius thought that he was better than Reynold because more of the people lived on his land. Really, the other couples didn't believe in either side. Reynold decided that he would make his people loyal to him. He decided to build a town out of the stone found on the land. He built a small town which was the envy of Dionius.

Meanwhile, I should say, all the couples were having children so, counting Dionius and Reynold and thier families, thirteen people lived on his land and ten on Reynold's.

Dionius was mad that Reynold had more land so, in a fit of rage, killed his father-in-law, Drakan, and stole his land. Fae objected so she was cut down by her son also.

Reynold's group attacked Dionius' and lost. Dionius crowned himself the ruler of his island. Reynold and Tanganyika were imprisoned and his peoples were used as slaves.

Much time passed, six years went by without anything happening. Finally, Reynold escaped from his prison and killed Ghetti. Dionius killed Reynold and then took Tanganyika as his wife.

Many years passed without anything happening. Finally, long after Dionius' rule, during the reign of Skallak the Mighty, the population had grown to 300. The people were now neither human nor S'Kra nor Elf, they needed a new name. Skallak came up with the name of Wyrm Elves. They became the Wyrm Elf Clan, like the Bone Elf Clans and the Wind Elf Clans. A rival faction of about 100 Wyrm Elves, led by Skallak's son Moruth, then aged 23, broke off. He formed the S'Kra Elf Clan. The S'Kra Elf Clan was the basically the same with a few differences. They had different views on the ways of life the peoples should lead.

The island stayed separated like that until the year 167 when most people filtered off the island into Elanthia. This happened because the S'Kra Elf Clan grew larger than the Wyrm Elf Clan and forced the Wyrm Elves off. Much later the S'Kra Elf Clan was broken apart by feuding between the varous parties.

Most people left the island and ended up in Elanthia or out the the provence of Qi'Reshalia. The clans were dissolved until now.

I had found the information this account is based on while digging up my family history. It is very interesting. I hope you had time to hear the whole thing.

I am named after Skallak's son, Moruth, the founder of the S'Kra Elves. In the first Moruth's honor, I have decided to create a new clan, one that is a blend of the Wyrm and S'Kra Elves. The Clan will officially be known as the Wyrm Elves but may go under several different names. If you are an Elf, Human, S'Kra Mur, or Gor'Tog and are interested or aren't sure about your clan, some see me in Therenbrough to find out more information and I can do some research to see if you are a Wyrm Elf (just because it's an Elf Clan doesn't mean anyone else can't join). Anyone is welcome to come and I have a few tests to see if you are a TRUE Wyrm Elf as I am. I hope to see all of ye soon, thank ye for your attention.
