Lockpicks from Heaven

by Kapi Hyddin

(Ratha, Qi'Reshalia: 5 Ka'len 360)

Kapi appears before the bar where she usually stops to have a small drink to help her relax after a hard day of hunting. She appears to be glowing as if something profoundly spiritual happened to her recently. She motions for all of the patrons to gather around and then starts telling her tale.

"I was hunting in the pirate area way up in Ratha when suddenly out popped a pesky pirate that kidnapped me and hauled me off to a dark, musty, cold prison. Now usually this doesnt bother me for I have many a lockpick to pick my way out of the horrid hole. But this day was different. My first lockpick breaks and with a mutter I take out my second lockpick. Surprisingly this one breaks too. I search for my third pick when to my surprise I find I have none. I pat my pockets searching for a keyblank and again I'm surprised and embarrassed to not find one."

"So there I sat, in that cold room, awaiting rescue. I search every corner on hand and knee in complete darkness for a fallen forgotten pick but sadly come up empty handed. After many hours of awaiting rescue I grew very hungry and a chill sunk into my body to the bone. Tired and weary I fell asleep only to awaken to the same fate the following day. Many days passed and at the verge of complete exhaustion I fall to my knees and prayed aloud..."

"Hello um God? you out there? see I know I dont call on you much but I'm so very stuck in prison, I could really use a lockpick if you can help me out, I promise I'll worship at the temple more often"

"Now really I'm not usually a very religious person but to my surprise a voice from the darkness echos "Here is the aid ye ask for."

"Half dead at this point I crawled across the barren floor feeling my way along and behold! My chilled hand brushed a warm stout lockpick. I grabbed it with a smile as a sudden burst of energy filled me. I reached over to the door, felt for the lock and *CLICK* Freedom!"

Kapi takes out a stout lockpick from her pouch and holds it up with pride. "I shall keep this lockpick always"

With that she leaves the bar and heads for the temple to again thank her guardian angel.
