Time to Repay the Help

by Shiftshade

(Riverhaven, Therengia: Shorka 364)

Slowly a black and silver clothed Elothian enters the the Tavern followed by a graceful cat. Aproaching the counter, he slowly draws a silver coin and orders a glass of ale. Tired but calm, ShiftShade pets his pure white cat and starts talking in howfully bad Common, calling attention to his foreign nature:

"Well I'm half way in my path to deserve the Warrior Mage title, and I've trained without rest, since the day I've joined thee honorable house of Warior Mage, with it I've journeyed from shard to throne city and through the islands...I fough in defense of Elanthia in the last Sorrow attempt to conquer it..."

ShiftShade shimers whene he finish is last sentence. Making a short stop as if lost in some painfull memory, he resumes.

"...I think its time to go back to where E becomed a Magic findler and repay some of the help I had as novice, from all thouse respectable Sirs and Ladys that enlighted my first questions about the world we live in..."

Taking a slow gentle sit of is ale he continues, "I still remember whene I first thought my rune was broke, 'cause I couldnt charge it, and the feeling of despair as I was too afraid to ask the wrong questions or that of being answered with something I didn't know of. Was those occasions that simple people showed their greatness and respect for the young like I was and had the kindness of taking me hand a drag me out of the confusion to then give me all the answers my thirst of youth could make into questions."

He chuckles softly and takes one strong sip of his ale.

"So I think its time for me to be victim and so be part of the chain that keeps Elanthia going with good or bad moments, but thats what life is suposed be isn't it?"

"Just a collections of good moments we only know they were when they're gone and constant battle to overcome the bad ones, hum?"

His smiling gaze seems to be aimed at the void, and with a suden flash of energy shift draws his left hand from is familiar takes the last and fast sip of is ale and firmly says, "Well its time to go Snowball!"

The white cat jumps to the floor and Shiftshade draws a couple of silver coins out of his pitch black velvet knapsack laced with spidersilk and adorned with jet scorpion charms. He tips Baresh for his fine ale and gold ears, turning to the door with freshly new energy in his movements; he walks out the door making a short stop to gaze at the sun for a second and starts walking again blending in the street crowd.
