July 2006, my Erie PA booksigning.
Erie is my hometown, so I do a signing
there every year. My mom Renee
Kloecker is in the center, and on the
left, my sister Connie Weiser. Every
year my mom makes a beautiful basket
for one of my readers to win. |
 |
My best friend, Dr. Elisa Konieczko,
showed up to support me at the
booksigning, as always! |

RWA--Atlanta July 2006!
This was the view from my hotel
window. Atlanta is a huge city,
and although the conference took
up most of my time, I did manage
to see some of the sights, as you'll
see below. |
|

|
Michele Masarach, Molly Herwood,
Chris Wenger and I visited the
Margaret Mitchell House and
Museum. I really loved seeing the
little basement apartment where she
wrote Gone With the Wind. There
were lots of movie memorabilia
and interesting historical facts.

At the Margaret Mitchell house,
Molly and I are standing in front
of the original painting used in
Gone With the Wind. |

|
At the Literacy Booksigning in
Atlanta. We raised around
$60,000 for literacy, thanks to the
generosity of the publishers donating
the books, and the readers buying
them.

Mary Reed McCall (fellow Avon
author and good friend) and I
having lunch at the Atlanta conference.
|

|
Jenna Mindel, one of my original
critique partners, and I also lunching
in Atlanta. Jenna was a RITA
finalist!
|

|
At the RITA ceremony, Michele
Masarach, Chris Wenger, Maggie
Shayne and myself all dolled up.
Maggie was a RITA finalist, too!

Callen Vacation 2006!
This year, we visited Virginia Beach,
but I thought I'd spare you the sight
of me in a bathing suit. From the left,
Jim, Michelle, me, my husband Jim,
and our youngest, Laura. They're
growing up so fast! |

|
On the drive north, we decided to
detour to the Blue Ridge Parkway
through Virginia. What beautiful
scenery. Okay, not as high up as
in our visit to Aspen last year, but
still nice.
