Margaret Benson writes as Maggie Shayne for Silhouette and Avon Books. She's published 13 titles so far, with 7 more due out next year. Of those, 15 include paranormal elements. Maggie has served as president, secretary, and conference coordinator for her chapter, the Central NY Romance Writers, has delivered workshops on writing paranormals at local, regional and National RWA conferences, and has won several industry awards including Best First Book and Best Supernatural Romance from The Talisman, A Golden Leaf Award from New Jersey Romance Writers, Career Achievement in Romantic Fantasy from RT, A WISH award and a gold medallion from RT. She is a two time Rita finalist.
As president of FF&P, Maggie hopes to expand reader recognition of our magical sub-genre, as well as publisher recognition for its many fans. Maggie is currently serving as FF&P contest coordinator for our first ever PRISM awards for published FF&P romances, an idea she conceived and then helped bring to fruition.

Whitney Walters is a member of RWA, a founding member of the Lower Cape Fear Chapter of RWA, a member of Outreach and FF&P. She is the present editor of the Out Of This World newsletter, for the RomEx newsletter, Pen and Mouse. She served as the first president of Lower Cape Fear Chapter. During her three-year term she helped coordinate two successful conferences, and helped establish a set of policy and procedures for the chapter. She also served as newsletter editor for the chapter’s newsletter for three years.
Whitney is a staff member on Genie’s RomEx Bulletin Board and Dueling Modems RomEx area. Unpublished in fiction as of yet she has had articles published in local newspapers, various chapter newsletters and in the Pen and Mouse newsletter. She feels the FF&P chapter is the perfect platform for advancing the genres she loves.
Darline Roberts has been a long-time member of RWA, and a member of FF&P since its inception. She has held the post of membership liaison and publicity chair for Colorado Romance Writers, her local chapter, and judged for many years in the Golden Heart and chapter writing contests. As of yet unpublished in full-length fiction, she has written articles for CRW, Mystery/Suspense RWA, and the FF&P chapter newsletters.
Darlene was involved with her children’s' elementary school creative writing programs for many years and admits to learning quite a bit from the younger aspiring writers. She admires the hard work and dedication the members have given FF&P and is ready to give of her own determination to help futuristics, fantasies, and paranormals continue to succeed.
