Hi, I'm Kindra and in case anyone is in any doubt, I am the matriarch of this apartment building we live in. The sooner the dogs in this building, and the humans, realize this, the better off everyone is. I am not one to toot my own horn, but I have seen more in my 14 years of life than most living creatures. 14 years is a long time for a German Shepherd so I demand respect, something the young dogs in my life don't seem to understand. I'm forever having to teach them a few things.
I was a rescue dog and am very happy with my life right now. I won't go into all the details of my past life (since I'm aging I tend to forget a lot of things) but when my mom, Nicole brought me home, I was in pretty rough shape. I was very arthritic and my back legs didn't work too well. I also have cataracts so sometimes my vision isn't all that good. Ok, my hearing is going too but they say this is normal with age. My mom took me to her vet, Dr. Janice Crook, who is a wonderful lady! She is very gentle and told my mom about some natural vitamin/herb supplements to try and sure enough, my arthritis is not bothering me as much as it did a year ago. I can now go on walkies with my mom and our friends next door, Cheryl and Bridget the Diva mini-schnauzer.
Now, it's about this little Shiro dog my Moms, Nicole and Raven brought home. He is sooooo little and is a real cutie. I like him a lot, but my buddy ArnieCat has got his nose out of joint. ArnieCat does not take too well to new animals coming to live in his home. You should have seen the big pout he put on when I moved in. Well, he's doing the same thing with Shiro so it's up to me to play mediator. I can't show I like Shiro too much otherwise ArnieCat gets jealous. On the other hand, I do like Shiro and I understand what it's like to be a rescued dog so I do want to welcome him to our home. Playing mediator is a lot of hard work so when it all gets too much I just go into my big crate and have a snooze.
Well, all this typing with these paws has just worn me out! I don't think I would have made a good computer programming dog, I think I'll leave that to the younger pups! I just heard my two moms talking about taking Shiro to the groomer next weekend. I can see it now, Shiro is going to expect regular beauty salon appointments and next thing you know he will be demanding his own limosine. Oh, the youth of today! I think I'll just go grab me a beef chew and thank the doggy heavens that I have short hair and don't have to worry about my appearance. If my Moms start getting out the curlers and blow dryer, I'm calling those people in little white coats to come take them away (grin).
