Branwen's Bookstore

In Association with Amazon.com Books

I love to read, and I love books. When I was a kid, I practically lived in the public library, and now that I'm an adult with a job, my house looks like a library. This, my bookstore, is my attempt to share with you some of the books that I really enjoy, covering the span of some of my interests.

Why do I call this a bookstore, instead of a book review page? Because from my bookstore web pages, you can buy the books I list, from Amazon.com, the online bookstore. Each title I list links into Amazon.com's database of books, and if you choose to put the title into your shopping cart and later buy it, Amazon.com will mail to you copies of the books you pick. You can even pay using your credit card.

I have bought many, many books from Amazon.com over the course of the previous months, and I have found them to be efficient, reliable, and convenient. Initially, I was concerned about using my credit card number over the Internet, but they use a secure server, and I have had no problems at all. If you choose to buy books from my bookstore, I am sure you will have as good an experience as I have had.

Book of the Week

King's Dragon
Kate Elliott / Hardcover / Published 1997

King Henry of Wendar is threatened on many fronts: his sister Sabella is threatening civil war, an inhuman race is attacking the northern coast of his realm, and his court is pressuring him to name his heir. There is the threat of magic around him, and strange signs and portents are being witnessed. Into this come two young people, Alain, an orphan promised to the church, but who swears an oath to follow the Lady of Battles when she appears before him in a vision, and Liath, who has learned forbidden magic from her father, while the two of them have lived their lives on the run from unknown enemies. On the Nebula final ballot for Best Novel, 1997.
