Books By Katharine Kerr
Katharine Kerr writes what she calls "lurid adventure fiction" but what I call great storytelling with great characters (or maybe that's the same thing).
Novels of Deverry
It's probably more proper to call this section the "Novel of Deverry", because this isn't a series of books, it's one giant novel published in several parts. Deverry is a land where humans meet elves, fight dragons, and practice magic, but also where humans bleed, feel pain, and mother children. Once you visit it, you'll never forget it.

Palace : A Novel of the Pinch
- Katharine Kerr, Mark Kreighbaum / Mass Market Paperback / Published 1996
I love this book! A space opera with intrigue, great characters, a convoluted plot, and the best example of computers and the internet in the future I've ever read. (It also made the preliminary ballot for the Nebulas this year.) Palace is a human colony long cut off from most of the rest of the galaxy. Its technological infrastructure is breaking down, the local swamplife is flourishing, an alien assassin is on the loose, and Vida, a young woman raised in the pleasure sector, must be very smart and very lucky to survive.
- Resurrection

(Hard to Find)
As Tiffany recovers from her death, in a rehab center in a future California, she struggles to discover what is real about her reality. (This novella is part of Freeze Frames.)

Freeze Frames
- Katharine Kerr / Mass Market Paperback / Published 1996
A "mosaic novel", this book follows the lives of the women in Maggie Corey's family, from the recent past to the future. And everywhere they go, they find two ancient enemies doing battle. ("Asylum", one of the pieces of this novel, was chosen for The Year's Best Science Fiction (Twelfth Annual Edition), edited by Gardner Dozois.)
Edited Anthologies
- Weird Tales from Shakespeare
- Katharine Kerr, et al / Mass Market Paperback / Published 1994
A collection of very weird, very funny, very interesting tales about what Shakespeare's life and works could have been.
