It's big. I had no idea it was so big. None of my photos can capture the scale. At one point when I was boarding the boat for a tour up the Seine I looked for the tower and I couldn't find it. I was too close and it was too large. When I finally brought it into focus I grabbed my camera and then immediately put it away. I would have needed a fisheye lens and the photo would have only been shadows. The truly impressive thing about the tower is that when it was originally constructed for an Exposition it was built as a temporay structure. Oh, those French are a clever lot, they fight with their feet... ummmm... never mind Still, wow! My coach tour package included a trip to the first level of the tower. A cold wind whipped through the girders and the sun was low in the west. The numbers on the side are a countdown to the millineum.
