One holiday Marvin talked me into going to the Great Western Bike Rally. It was a blast. I wasn't fond of the motel where we stayed but the entire trip was a lot of fun. It happen over Memorial day in Paso Robles, California, and one day after we had mostly finished or triptych we pedaled into a parking lot of a liquor store where a local radio station was doing some type of promotion. What do you know! It's the Bud Girls and they're their to take photos with people. Color me there. Another cool thing that happened that weekend in Paso Robles was a Cruise Night featuring "classic" cars. Afterwards they all went to the local A&W Rootbeer drive in to hang out just like in the movie American Graffitti. Cool Daddy-o!
This was taken at an even called Ride LA. We're in the parking lot of a local landmark called Famrmer's Market. It's an event that's promoted by the Mayor of Los Angeles (he's a bicycle rider) and several large corporations. The idea is to show off the city. The ride was wonderful. The motorcycle cops clear the street and we blow through stop lights with a police escort. I've said it from movie shoots. It's nice to have a cop on your side.
