The Mallorens are back!
Once again, Jo Beverley transports us to the world of Georgian England. When rakish Bryght Malloren takes to housebreaking in an effort to retrieve a lost letter, he finds a petite spitfire instead. Portia St. Claire has taken up temporary residence in the Earl of Walgrave's Maidenhead house in hopes of convincing the earl to help her save the family estate which her half-brother lost while gambling. When she confronts Bryght at gunpoint, the sparks fly.
Tempting Fortune is a wonderful read! I had to force myself to put it down at night. Portia is a delightful, spirited heroine and Bryght.... He's a Malloren through and through. Charming, devilish, and irresistible. Their conversations are constantly witty and filled with double meaning. And do they ever create some steam!
If you can't already tell, I loved this book! When it hits the store shelves, a copy will immediately head straight to mine.
Oh, and... by the way... the ever-charming Rothgar's in it too.
